The digital divide is the gap between those who have access to digital technology and those who do not. Nigeria, with its highest mobile subscription in Africa, still has over 30 million people unconnected and Penetration (% of Pop. with Internet) of 37.59%, leaving approximately 63 million on the other side of the divide. These largely semi-rural dwellers with low-poverty levels of income often lack prioritization when it comes to connecting to digital technology and, as a result, the promise and potential of connectivity to transform their lives remains a distant prospect.
