Okay... At first, I was skeptical after the reviews I saw here, but I decided to give it a try... No regrets ever since..
The teachers know their jobs, my nephews never complained, management was also top notch... Like I said, no regrets ever since

Amazing place
Tender years school is one of the best private schools I've seen, I'd rate it a solid five stars. If I could give 10 I would it's a wonderful school. It's a great center for academic excellence...it brings out the abilities of students and prepare them for the future

Quality education
The school not only educates a child, but it also prepares the child for today's challenges. An awesome place to nurture a child. Top-notch facilities, clean and healthy environment. Tender year's preparatory school is in a class of it's own. Excellence!

it really is a great school
Tender years school is one of the best private schools I've seen, I'd rate it a solid five stars. TYS focuses on learners from all aspects like my child was a slow learner, not every school would be patient enough to teach a slow learner till they get it right but TYS teachers did. it's a wonderful school.

Don't leave your child beyond reception class
If I could give them -10 stars for primary education I would. Early years to reception is okay. I wouldn't advise any parent not even my enemy to leave their child there beyond reception class. You won't get value for money and your child won't have a good foundation. You will end up paying for books that you will never see and they don't challenge the children academically. Don't fall for the hype.

Not recommended beyond reception class.
The previous reviews are 100% correct and still is in 2018.

- TYS lacks the capacity to offer value in primary education.

-The school disregards parents and has no PTA

- More attention is given to social activities than academics.

- Children are not adequately assessed at the end of the term that is to say you won't see any evidence of assessment.
I would give a -5, if I could, when it comes to academics. However, they score high points in security.

I don't recommend them beyond reception class.

Although the school had great potential it is not being guided well.
- Unqualified leadership team with high-turn over rate
- Blame culture and total disdain for parents who critic the school
- No professional accreditation or governance
- Small classrooms which are not fit for teaching and learning (poorly converted houses)
- Inadequate resources for teaching and learning, resources are usually gimmicks (toys) which offer no educational value
- Poor communication between parents and school
- Staff are not good role models for the students
- No textbooks, only worksheets, no differentiation
- Too many lessons in one day, no focused attention for core subjects, such as Maths, Languages, Science and ICT, just play!
I would not recommend sending your children to this school to obtain an education of any value.
PUBLIC USER
I totally agree with everything you have said here. I have already withdrawn my child. Better late than never.

-Good public relations.
-High Teacher:pupil ratio (1:20-25)
-No PTA
-No textbooks but photocopied materials.
-Underqualified teachers.
-High rate of tuition increments.
-Ballet: lack of barre, untrained ballet teachers and overcrowded classes.
-Refusal to recognise gifted children n their needs.
-insistence that gifted children must do coursework far beyond their years.

1. Most of the teachers do not have the special training required.

2. I have never attended a single PTA meeting in that school but suddenly circulars are distributed stating that they are suggestions made by parents. Which parents?

3. Scholars pay thousands of naira in school fees per term but yet only a special few make it home with actual text books while the un-favored go home with photocopied pages. I lodged complaints but nothing happened.

4. Their contact number changes like the weather, it is never the same and you end up contacting someone who has just been fired or whose contract has expired.

For that much tuition fees, our children deserve the best. TYS really, really needs to work on these points.
