Dangote Sugar Refinery PLC has a long history in the sugar industry, dating back to the 1970s when the parent company, Dangote Industries Limited, began importing and selling sugar. The company has four core competencies: refining raw sugar into vitamin A fortified and non-fortified granulated white sugar, marketing and distributing the refined sugar grades in 50kg, 1kg, 500g, and 250g packages, cultivating and milling sugarcane to finished sugar from their sugar backward integration projects in Numan, Adamawa state, and developing greenfield projects in line with the 'Sugar for Nigeria' initiative, which is part of the Nigerian National Sugar Master Plan.
