He met an Executive Director of a computer firm; he considered him but could not give him a job in his firm because he did not have second class upper (2.1) GPA.

During one of his numerous and constant visits to this firm, he appealed to be given a job without any form of stipend or salary. The aim of seeking for the job was to enable him acquire the necessary job experience and to build some Information Technology skills.

Subsequently, he was given the job in the computer firm. The accounts department could not understand the reason for a graduate who had completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be recruited without having a salary grade. On their own discretion, they placed him on stipend meant for industrial attachment (IT) students. He enjoyed his Three Thousand Five Hundred Naira (N3500) allowance without complaining as he initially did not expect that.

After about three months of working in the firm, the Managing Director decided to send him for training to enable him acquire the necessary skills to be posted to the new Port Harcourt branch. That was when he found out that the young man was not a full time staff of the firm. Three days later, he was given his first appointment letter after the Managing Director took up his case and made him a full time staff of the firm. He was placed on a new salary grade for entry level graduate of the firm.
