Mobah Rural Horizons - Kano

Mobah Rural Horizons has designed a revolutionary food storage device that uses evaporation to provide electric-free refrigeration. The device consists of two earthenware pots, with a layer of fine, wet river sand between them and a moist jute bag on top. When stored in a dry, well-ventilated and shady location, water evaporates from the sand, cooling the inner pot and keeping produce fresh for weeks. This decreases food waste and allows farmers to make more money so they can continue to provide for their communities. Every year, Mobah sells around 30,000 coolers to farmers and other individuals that need an effective way to preserve food for their families and communities.
