Laparoscopic surgery (aka keyhole surgery) is a procedure where a surgeon makes small cuts on your belly, a small camera (usually a laparoscope) is then placed through one of the small cuts, the images from the camera are projected onto monitors in the operating room, so surgeon can get a clear and enlarged view of the surgical area. Specialized surgical tools are used to perform this surgery through the small cut.
