Mahil Cargo Services International Ltd - Ikeja

I tried the services of this company for the first time after much lobbying from their agents to give them a shot. It was the worst disaster. They were engaged to clear and deliver a standard shipment. From the beginning after the shipment arrived, they kept shifting the day when the package would be delivered saying 'tomorrow' for almost a week. Due to their unexplained delaying, the cargo then got stuck at the ports due to a strike that shut down operations for 2 weeks. After the strike ended, other shipments that arrived after this cargo were cleared and delivered to me by other agents immediately - no additional issues and only minor charges. Yet, Mahil Cargo alone kept my shipment stuck for an additional 2 weeks!! The story kept changing. They claimed they were being charged demurrage for the strike days but were working to have this removed or reduced. I kept asking for the demurrage bill to determine if it would be better to just accept it and get the cargo in time. They never gave me a clear response during these extra 2 weeks just lies day after day. Finally, it was not until we threatened them with police action that they finally delivered the cargo. Mahil forced us to pay 4 weeks of demurrage and they even lost part of the shipment! Worst still, the contents had become almost useless since they arrived 2 weeks after they were needed.I am sharing this experience because I believe this is a good forum to help people learn about companies they are unfamiliar with before they use them.
